Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, one of the daughters of musicians from Mexico, was born to the music-loving parents of her family. She grew up listening mostly to traditional music, boleros from the past, and traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana enjoys tangos, as well as opera, and various other dramatic kinds. She started singing and studying songs with her mother she began her more intensive singing training at the age of sixteen with world-renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio Becerra. In the School of Music of Guadalajara University as well as the School of Sacred Music of Toluca in Mexico continued her music education. As a student and young professional, she was a part of numerous chamber ensembles and opera choruses in Guadalajara and Mexico City. In 2000, she emigrated to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then, in 2007, she relocated to her new home in Southern California. She also sings in solo Latin American music for private occasions and is a part of Ensemble XXI in Redlands. Ana is involved in a variety of local organizations, both as a teacher and performer, because she is passionate about art and music. Ana is also a past member of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana is hoping that, through her performance her love of Latin American traditional songs, she can instill enthusiasm, specifically for the young generation and keep the tradition living.
